Garden Planting Re-Design Project – Case Study
This project saw us re-design a considerable area of planting in a large garden predominately around the house terraces. The beds had become heavily overgrown with invasive Ground Elder, wild geraniums and Alchemilla Mollis as well as weed grasses, which meant we had an initial clearance job to undertake to prepare the area. Once clear, we added a layer of topsoil and mulch mix to help improve the soil quality ahead of planting.
Terraced Area Garden Re-Design – Case Study
This was a project near Bishops Waltham in a garden that sloped considerably towards the house. The house itself is of modern brick construction. The existing layout of the outdoor space didn’t work functionally, meaning it was under used with the shape very irregular and at odds with the house itself. There were also drainage issues on the lower terrace which we had to remedy. Essentially, the area felt dark, damp and unloved.
Autumn Plants To Continue the Interest in the Garden
There is a common misconception that when summer ends, that is it for the garden until Spring – where did the colour go!
However, there are many late-flowering perennials, shrubs and bulb-based plants that keep your garden looking amazing for longer. It is therefore important that when you are having a planting scheme designed, it incorporates drifts of these plants to keep the interest, so your garden retains its beauty.
